Our purpose as a church is to simply "Love God and Love People".
We get that purpose from the Gospel of Matthew 22, where Jesus was asked, "Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?" Jesus replied, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."
Christ has made it so simple for us. But although it sounds so easy, we realize there needs to be a community around to support those who are striving to follow Christ in this world.
We see God working among us, inspiring, answering prayers, and showing how to live in relationships with others and with Him.
We are delighted with the opportunities we have to work, pray and worship together and with other churches in Bury, and thus to be a local expression of the unity of God’s global Church.
We believe the church, the community of Jesus’ disciples, is the Body of Christ, where every member is gifted and needed to further the work of the Kingdom of God.
We welcome everyone to take part in God’s work.
Through Bible study, worship and prayer we seek to grow in our understanding of God, His love, and His purpose for everyone.
We seek to encourage everyone to know the joy of following Jesus, by engaging in the Mission of sharing the Good News of God's endless love with the needy world.
